ABOUT US

How things got quacky really quickly!

I’ve always been creative, trying out every Pinterest idea that piqued my interest and giving my creations as gifts. One day, I thought I would try my hand at these ducks and made a handful for friends and family.

One of the lucky few to get a hand painted duck was my cousin, who was passing out of the Navy. His duck wore the navy uniform, had his initials on and the date of his big day on the bottom. I thought it would be a great keepsake!

A few days later my Aunt posted a picture of the duck on the Raleigh Family Facebook page, and suddenly my life changed! The demand was so high that I set up a Facebook page to take orders and started trading within 12 hours!

The first few weeks were chaotic as I tried to keep up with demand, but by roping the rest of the family in we managed! We had to source more 100% fair-trade ducks, buy enough paint and find room to store all the ducks! It has been a whirlwind, but I am so excited that my hobby now brings so much joy to people, and it is a pleasure to be creating something that will be a cherished gift! What more work-satisfaction could you want as a creative?

- Kate, Head Quacker

Meet the rest of the team...

John - in charge of most of the painting, hitting things with a hammer and coming up with quacking new ideas!

Ally - our numbers lady (good at keeping all the ducks in a row) and a pro at adding the detailed personalisations on our ducks.

Vicki - our marketing supporter (i.e. in charge of quacking about our ducks as much as possible!)

Dana - The newest duck painter who is quacking out all the designs with her amazing talents!

Raleigh Enterprises

We are a proud supplier of Raleigh Enterprises; based at Raleigh Naval Base. They are a charity organisation supporting HMS Raleigh's Central Amenities Fund (CAF). The CAF is a registered Charity and looks to support Raleigh's personnel in places where it is not appropriate to use normal MOD funding.

We sell some of our naval ducks through them and are proud to support their cause. For more naval gifts (other than our gorgeous little ducks), please visit their website at:

A good deal for everyone...

A little family-run  business, we know that everyone working in our team is happy, safe and treated fairly, but what about the people who carve our ducks? They are an extension of our team too. Well, we care about them as much as we do each other, which is why our ducks are all 100% fair trade.
Hand-carved from bamboo roots in Indonesia with all the natural look and attributes of bamboo, the head and feet are made from wooden offcuts from furniture makers which would otherwise be unused. Each duck is entirely unique and has it's own quirky little personality, a real addition to any home!

New Ideas

We are constantly growing and thinking up new ideas, and designing gorgeous little ducky characters! Keep an eye out to see what we come up with next!

UK Based

Although we source our hand-carved ducks 100% ethically from Indonesia, we are a UK family-run company based in the small town of Sandwich, in Kent.

Quality Guaranteed

We have a keen eye for detail and we design all of our ducks to be timeless and classic. With a touch of TLC, we only send out happy ducks looking for new homes!

I wanted Royal Navy and RAF ducks as I have twin girls who are both in the forces. The attention to detail to get my ducks RAF uniform (female) right was very much appreciated and I eagerly awaited delivery once ordered. When they arrived I wasn’t disappointed! Thank you so much! I love them!
